It started with a gap no one was filling
Since 2020, our founder Gladys W. has run a business close to the world of home and furniture. Year after year, she noticed the same thing: parents wanted furniture made especially for children, built to a high standard, and they wanted someone who could transform the whole room. Nobody was doing both.
Instead, parents were left piecing it together: a bed from one place, storage from another, and someone else again for lighting and décor. The result rarely felt like the dream room they had pictured for their child.
In 2024, Gladys founded Riela Kids Furniture to fill that gap: one specialised home for quality children's furniture and complete room makeovers, where every piece and every room is designed around the child who will grow up in it.
Just two years on, Riela is home to the largest kids' furniture showroom in Kenya and East Africa, in Garden Estate, Nairobi. We have a makeover team of interior designers, 3D renderers and an electrical engineer, and we have been named Kenya's Most Trusted & Creative Brand for Kids' Furniture.
